See this PDF distributor database compiled by Marcel Chichak from Canada:
http://www.mgaroadst...ation/lucas.pdf

The basic number of 41907 identifies your distributor as being originally used on post 1982 998 Metros. The other number (1390) identfies the distributor as being made the 13th week of 1990.

The database identifies your dizzy as a 59D4 type.

Hi again,

I really cannot say what would be best suited for your engine. If you have the funds, you could have your engine evaluated on a rolling-road and have them determine your optimum advance curve. Once you know that I believe you could have a distributor shop "re-curve" your distributor to provide the advance curve your engine needs. You will also see a lot of people on this forum bring up MegaJolt. That is a programmable ignition system which does away with the distributor and allows you to "map" an ignition curve suited to your engine. I know little about the, but there are lots of threads on this board that you can read through to learn more.
