got myself a dash kit with 3 pods, (speedo, fuel, rev) to replace my 2 pods (speedo, fuel) in a custom dash im working on. they are proper mini guages so my question is, can i just custom wire the speedo in which case how do i? or is it easier to get some simple wiring kit from a mini with 3 pods to just plug straight into relevant holes??

thanks guys...

Im sure there is a wire already there to plug to new clocks, and one to the coil. I upgraded mine to a 3 pod. If my memory serves me correct, its a white wire for rev counter...

yeah look for a wire behind the dash, think it was white and black.... if not it takes its feed from one of the low tension sides of the coil. look at a wiring diagram in a haynes manual to aid you.

There should be a spare bullet connector and a spare spade connector.

There should be two wires taped back to the wiring harness near the instrument connector, one white/black and one light green/white. These are for the tacho. All the rest of the connections are made through the same plug as your original gauges. The speedo is mechanical, not electrical. You may need to swap the speedo cable depending on exactly what 2 clock sets you are swapping between as they are not all compatible with each other. Can't remember just now if the speedos are all calibrated to the same number of turns per mile.

Did you get the bracket for the clocks with them? If they are not being screwed to the back of a dash then they will need to be held in a bracket and the larger clock set needs a different bracket.
