just a quick question i think :w00t:

last time i have my mini rolling roaded there was a slight flat spot and the opperator said that a stiffer spring in the carb would get rid of this

he didnt have one but said to me just get one and put it in

i know where the spring is and what it does but what is a stiffer spring called and what do i have now ?

its a 1990 1275cc cooper

with i think a HIF 44 carb

A RED spring is slightly stiffer than standard and is probably what you need !

Order one from Minispares

The red piston spring (AUD4355) is standard in an HIF44 from a 1990 Cooper. You need a Yellow type B spring to go up by one grade. This is just under twice as stiff as the standard spring. BFS Part no. AUD4398.

Dredging this up from the past but is there a stiffer spring than a red for an HS4?

When I rev my Mini the revs seem to 'hang' for a long time before coming back down. Would a stiffer spring solve this?

I agree with Dan - yellow spring required.
Ryan.
