Model: 1275 cooper
Year: 196?
Need to replace the inline brake light pressure switch. Any suggestions how to get at it?? Seems to be neatly tucked into a very tight area. Unable to get a wrench on it. Do I need to remove clutch lactuator or anything else to gain access?
Thanks-

What about a couple of long extension bars and a deep socket ??

I have no removal/installation advice but I do have a question and some information.

Are replacing the switch because it has failed AND you are using DOT-5 (silicone) brake fluid? If so, you may be wasting your time replacing the switch. There are many, many reports over the years of the hydraulic brake light switches (even brand new ones) failing after a short exposure to DOT-5 fluid. The work-around is easy. Buy a pedal actuated switch as used on later cars and rig up a mounting bracket to use it instead. Run two wires from the pedal switch through the firewall and plug them into the two wires that now go to the hydraulic switch.

We fitted a brand new switch to one of ours and it would not give full voltage unless hard braking, If light braking , brake lights flickered and were dim..
Brakes worked fine so plenty of pressure in system and no problems.

Solution: Fitted a relay switched by the brake pressure switch. This gave full power to brake lights at all braking conditions..works a treat
