Hi! Since a few days the red light on the switch with the brake pedal on has stayed on. You know, that funny switch that I was never really sure what it did...!

The brakes seem absolutely fine and have recently been replaced...

What should I do! I cant turn it off and am more worried that my not particularly new battery will go flat!

Grüß aus Tirol !

Have you checked the brake fluid level, the light is low fluid level and you push it to test the bulb is working. If the levels o.k. then it will probably be a short on the cable to the cap.

This is the brake fluid level light as stated by v21ash. The cap for brake fluid has two wires going to it. Inside the cap there is a float. When the float hits the bottom i.e. you are out of fluid a circuit is made with these two wires and the light comes on. If your fluid level is ok then the float may have just got stuck or you need a new cap.

Ahhh! Thanks for that, it must be the cable to the cap! It would have taken me a while longer to work that one out...!

Long live the forum!
