Hi all. I know that you have to change the steering column when you want to fit an MPI wheel to a pre injection mini, I was wondering if anyone can tell me,
A: what else needs to be done to fit one ?
B: do these changes have to take place to fit and an MG F steering wheel or other MG wheels ?

Any info is appreciated

Hi

You need to change the column complete
You will need the later mounting bracket for the dash rail
Stalks (can use MGF ones - Cheaper)
Wheel (can use MGF one - Cheaper) - Recommend removing airbag for safety
Slipper ring for horn connection (will need to use a relay for the horn)
MPI steering lock
MPI cowl
Part of the wiring loom (stalks end) will make the job much easier

You will need to play around with the wiper wiring a little and move the wiring for the lights from the switch to the stalk.

Drop a PM to R1minimagic as he had an MPI column for sale the other day & may have some of the other bits.

Some detail in my project pages or drop me a PM and if I can help, I will.

Regards

Steve

Stalks for the MGF are the same as the MPI

Even cheaper than MGF ones, Rover 200, 25, 400 MG ZR, ZR van, MG ZS, Honda Accord saloon, EG Civic, (if you want the lights and wipers on the opposite side to normal)

They all use the same style stalks as the MPI
