Morning all

When I first start my mini up after it has been idle for some time (i.e. in the morning, or leaving the office in the evening) It seems to missfire quite heavily until I hit around 40 mph. From here on, it is fine, and when I take it back down to a standing start, it continues without issue.

My only ideas are that there is a blockage in the fuel line. Or that the spark plugs / dizzy cap are damp (due to the wonderful summer we're having), as It only started on Tuesday morning...

Before I start ripping it apart, I wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue?

Thanks!

I would maybe try disconnect the vac advance hose before the next time you expect it to do the same, if its sorted then you know the culprit.

This weekend I had a look at the Vac advance hose, which is slightly damaged at the dizzy end.

A quick botch job with some electrical tape and minimal patience didn't seem to make much of a difference, so I'll have a fiddle with the choke tonight

As ever, thanks for the replies and advice!

Oil in the carb piston ?

How easy is it to check this? I'm in the office and would quite like to get this sorted before I leave (irrespective of the white shirt I'm wearing!)

I've also discovered if I sit on the accelerator before I leave (Faffing with the radio) the problem is a lot shorter, or I don't get it at all when I pull off...
