Centre Console Dimesions?

Hi, does anyone have the dimensions for a centre console? Also, whats the best materials to make them out of? O_O

MDF is the material of choice normally.

Okay thanks, yeah I've seen that it's whats normally used, but is it the best? I want a long lasting durable material, do yu think plywood would be okay?

ideally you want something which wont "warp" too much, as minis arent the most water tight places.

mdf covered in vinyl is what most you buy are made from.

Custom consoles isnt MDF! Its more like very heavily packed cardboard. They are a bit crap really.

Custom consoles isnt MDF! Its more like very heavily packed cardboard. They are a bit crap really.

im sure the front (where the stereo goes) and the base (which goes around the gear stick) are MDF only the sides are really thin.

i guess its to save space??

yes i made one from mdf but the issue i had was i covered mine in vinyl and my shoe kept rubbing on it when i pressed the clutch down so eventually it wore through!!

lol, literally just been looking in the faqs for this!
has anyone made a kinda lopsided one so that the drivers side is clear of the clutch, i'm thinking of knocking one up to try and figure it out, i have a custom consoles one which is nearly worn through
