how low is it?? - if its sitting on the bump stops you will get negative camber....
its standard height

Would imagine that if everything is original then, no, it wont be at standard height as the rubber cones would have collapsed (last about 10 years) and the car will be sitting on the bump stops.
As you lower the front of the car... negative camber increases.
Check clearance of the front arm to bump stop.

I do it in Northamptonbut need some one to set it up, i live in romford rm1. if you know anyone near it would be much appreciated

Means nothing am afraid...
Bump stop clearance needs to be checked... then you will know if its sitting on the bump stops and thus is leading to your negative camber issues...
or as Roy said earlier.. someone has fitted longer arms... messed around with the tie rods.. etc.etc
