Its a rover mini
1990, However I think the engine is older as it had the GMC167 master cylinder(obsolete) And the starter seems to be the inertia type
When I go to start the car there is A clicking sound from a relay with four conections to it, its near the starter motor
Solenoid a friend to told me to try And bypass the starter solenoid with a screwdriver to kick in the starter
Once I did this the stArter didn't kick in, at first we thought the battery we tried in another car and it started the caraa fine.
Thanks Craig. Any help is appreciated

have you checked the connections? battery terminals, the engine to body earth strap can all give you problems
Usually when I have any kind of electrical problem and the fuses are fine, I check and clean the earths. 9 times out of 10 it cures the problem
Its a common problem with my mini lol
