Hi I have a 1984 Austin mini and have recently removed and refurbished the wiper motor and linkages, I have now come to put it back together and gave a problem. There are three outer covers on the wiper cable from the motor. I have a short one a 90 degree one and the last one Is long with a slight bend at the end, I have refitted them in the correct order but the spindles are not lining up properly with the holes in the scuttle, they are just out. When I look on the Internet for pictures of the linkages everything I find shows the middle bar as being completely straight whereas mine has a curve at the end. The curve looks like it is meant to be there and not that it is just bent. Any ideas? Thanks

I just looked at some i removed as complete assemblies and they are all curved like that on the centre section. They usually are a bugger to remove as it seems like they are out so you just have to keep trying until it goes in!! Maybe easier if you loosen the nuts off a bit and then tighten them when you have got it through the holes.
