Does anyone know if this engine gearbox combo will fit in a mini.I picked one up this morning and like the idea of 167bhp with a 6 speed gearbox.

Anything can be made to fit, the 306 isnt the obvious choice though.

It's a big old unit with a big 6 speed box, with the angle the engine needs to sit at i'd say it was a no go, but anything can be done with time and patience.
Main problems will be radiator clearance, and gearbox size.
If the gearbox was a problem due to its size you could use the xsara vts 5 speed box, fits straight on and has the ideal ratios to work with the 6 engine.

im simply going to say no... its mahoosive, and to even fit it in a 205 which is wider than a mini, you have to ditch the 6 speed box... theres better engines out there to use

Gti-6 in a pug 205 goes in very well, hopefully if Sam is about he'll let you know how well
In a mini, as above, anything will fit, all depends on how deep your pockets are or how clever your mind is and how the car is gonna look
Would be a different choice from the norm but are good engines though

im going to say it will be very very difficult but if you want to try, why not. the thing is it is a very large unit it doesn't even fit in the 306 properly, there is less lock on the steering that the standard 306 and that's just so the gearbox and wheel don't touch on full lock
