Just going through some old photos of mini shows from the 80s/90s and came across some pictures of my old mates' mini. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago and I'm sure his mini did, even more years ago ;) The mini was a Mk3 850 that his dad got in payment for spraying an MG Midget. He polished and ported the standard head and it went like a rocket, had a job keeping up with him in my 1275GT.

Anyway, thought you might like to see what we were doing to minis in the 80's. This photo was taken at Stanford Hall in '86 parked next to my black GT and another mates blue GT

These were, again, taken at Stanford but, a year later. He never got stopped by the plod for his spots covering his number plate either

Bah! I dare say that Im not the only user on here that, when met with these cars at shows etc, likes to take a minute and think of the roads that they have seen, the 'near misses' experienced, the car parks put in and the tales that they could tell. A sure-fire point of any classic car.

Nice pics matey, Brings back memories. When i,ve finished my 70s/80s rally replica i,ll put some pictures on the site and hope some of you will like it.
I,ve tried to use all the original bits and bobs from that era and it,s coming together well, the latest bits were original white door squares with the dunlop logo above (i rang dunlop just to make sure i was,nt infringing anything and they said no problems, just send a photo of my mini for their office wall!!).

My mates spots were mounted on home made brackets and they used to shake like a pooing dog. Think you can still get proper ones though.

Some for sale here, if he's still got them
