Model: city e
Year:1992
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):

Just noticed my drivers side rear light isn't working, nor is the same side drivers light

Everything else is working fine, reverse light, brake light, fog, dipped beam, full beam + spots

What do I need to check? Any idea what fuse this runs on, I dont have my haynes with me.. I'm really stumped, never really thought about electrical problems before.

More likely to be bad earth if all lights in one cluster are not working, on the other hand it could just be the bulb ?

PS, if it were the fuse then all side lights would be inoperative as would be the instrument lights.

As above, the fuse for the tail lights (15 amp in line fuse behind the carb/air filter with red/white wire) supply's both tail lights as well as the dash lights, so if your nearside tail light is still working, then the fuse isn't likely to be the problem. What do you mean by the term "drivers light" on the same side that is also not working?? :D

That's true on earlier Minis, but they changed the wiring on later Minis, with the side/tail lights on each side of the car running off separate fuses.

Ross as your car is a 1992 model it would have this later wiring loom. So your problem probably is a fuse, either it's blown or has bad connections.

Hmm strange, car hasn't moved or anything since last night, but now it's just the rear tail driving light that's out, so bulb?

Need to check all wires, fuses and earths tomorrow

Could be the connectors in the boot

Changed the bulb, still not working.. The connector in the boot is fine, I have about 15 minutes before MOT.

Could be a bad connection under the bonnet. I think there is a connector on the bulkhead where the wire for the tail light and side light spilit off to the front and back of the car. If this connection is dirty it would explain why the side light wasn't working but fixed itself, and why the tail light isn't working.
