I prefer roll centre door bars over the safety devices, there made to the same FIA standards and you can buy direct and there cheaper!

So long as they are FIA Approved they'll be fine for competition so long as the fitting is in accordance with the MSA 'Blue Book' requirements.

Roll centre have welded flanges that bolt together, the safety devices clamp round the tube
You could fit roll centre door bars if the cage measurments are the same as roll centre but you would have to weld the flanges to the cage

If you make any welded modifications you will lose the certification

I can't stand those awful looking "clamps" that you get for door bars etc on safety devices and some other cages, welded brackets are much better, neater and stronger IMO.

I prefer the clamps, it means you can take the bars off to get seats in, or if you just want them out of the way if your using it as a road car (dont think the missis would like climbing over them in a dress). But equally you can never be sure how good the welding is, so while it may look good it may be much weaker than the bolted in type problem is you wont find out until you need it the most.Yeah dont buy from Geronimo!

These are the type I think are a bit horrible, you can make out the one on the drivers side easier:

Don't forget to use proper padding on all the front bars. The installation of a roll cage really does make the inside much less safe in an accident unless you are wearing a crash helmet, so unless you think you may be likely to roll your car it is probably not a wise thing to install and never install one unless there are proper 4-point located full harness belts to motor-sport specifications fitted as well. Hit your head on a roll cage in an accident and it could easily be 'Goodnight Vienna'.

None fit as well as the Safety Devices ones.
Sorry thats rubbish, Roll Centre fit Just as well as safety devices i know ive had both and currently have roll centre as i like there dog leg door bars better.

I do agree the safe thing to do is low mounted buckets with harnesses and roll cage padding, i do use padding when i go to a track day or drag racing but take it off when its on the road as i dont like the look regardless of the safety aspect.
