Im surprised there are no posts about this type of insruance, unless its in mini chat or something.
Thanks to the goverment you have to have your car insured or SORN' all the time, which for someone like myself who uses it when the sun is out maybe once a month for shows is very expensive to get a full year insurance on it as i have another car as my daily.
Is anyone else in this situation? Solutions? Ive heard about laid up insurance for very very limited milage but am still to sucesfully find any.

You've got the wrong end of the stick.
If the car is TAXED then it needs to be insured, if its SORN then it doesn't.
Laid up cover is a good idea anyway.

So what exactly were you doing before this new rule? Just geting the odd days insurance here and there when you wanted to use it? If so how did you tax it?
Any of the classic vehcle insurers will have a number of policies available for limited mileage and most of them will also do policies to cover laid up vehicles. You'll likely need to speak to them though as these types of policy are far less numerous than "normal" policies so it's not worth them setting up to sell them online with the number of different possibilities of types of storage and use that they will need to cater for.

The car is taxed and MOT'ed, i was adding a temp car to my policy of my daily for a week or so for £20.
But i cant have temp cover for a whole year obviously.
I shall try phoning up footman James and Adrian Flux tomorrow, i didnt think insurers could do this as most say the minimun milage is 2000 for example.
And sonikk, i have searched google many times, but i like to hear reviews from people too, more valuable i think. And thanks for that link.

The question still stands - how did you tax it?
My 3k miles per year policy costs £120 and with a more standard car would be less so for the sake of the extra few pounds it would surely be far better to insure the thing year round and remove the problem. It would also mean that you would be covered if the car was stolen/damaged/whatever at some point where you aren't driving it. It also means that you could jump in it and go for a run anytime you felt like it.
I wouldn't touch Flux with a barge-pole.
