Hi all, so as I've got my MPI running and through it's MOT I thought it time to look into new wheels. Currently running 10x6 ultralites with yokos but craving new shiny things and been eyeing up my options on the split rim front. So far it's either Image 10x7 from Minispeed or Force Racing (v3 or v5) 10x7?

Any reviews on either or recommendations? Hadn't considered the Image option and was set on getting Force Racing to sort me, but both are stunning. Have also been hunting some Specialist Component split rims, but very rare.
Any advice would be great, thanks

Yeah well the plan would be to get splits to replace them, so yeah in the future I will be. Only 300 miles put on them to date lol

good luck finding tyres to (safely) fit over 10x7's which aren't slicks. I don't think they will pass MOT.

There are some photos going around here of some yokos (AO32's I think) on 10x7s and well... they don't look particularly safe!

10x7 not likely
10x6.5 at a stretch
10x6 yes

Before this turns into another one of those threads lets nip this in the bud so that the OP can get back on track with the original query.

As said the tyres will fit on 7 x 10's and will pass an MOT.

However you will be running the tyre outside of the manufacturers specifications for the tyre and should you have an accident there is the remote possibility that your insurance company could use it not to pay up.

People have been running this setup with no problems but ultimately the choice is up to you.

Now thats cleared up lets get back to the issue of choosing some nice shiney new wheels! ^_^

Also, can't be too reliable source on the matter if you were questioning the exact same thing just 6 months ago!

OK so they will pass MOT. Excuse me for considering the safety of others and not considering your bragging rights!

GO 10x7 yay!

hahaha well yes since i have got a new instrument :o

i ended up seeing and testing 7's before buying, as i still was not sure, and found that people were hyping up the stretch fandango by amazing proportions. we got them on another mini and drove it around for a bit and threw it around and found no reason why they would be considered dangerous.

and back then, no i wasnt much of a reliable source, thats why i put up a topic ASKING and not telling, because i was unsure... we all have to learn mate.
