Hey all

I have a 2000 cooper mpi with the injection kit on it, however i want to swap the exhaust for either a side exit 2.25 inch ss RC 40 or the PLay mini equivelant.
My question is between the RC 40 and pla mini, what do you guys personally think sound best and which one gives the best performance.
I am looking for a rumble on idle, well sort of a mustang sound which i know these types of exhaust give a similar sound, single box cat back by the way, also plan to remove my cat.
Thanks,

You wont get a Mustang rumble with half the cylinders and 4 times less capacity! I have a PlayMini exhaust though. They are incredibly noisey and it does make it rather unbearable over long journeys. Ive heard the RC40 system is a fair bit quieter and its been proven to give very good back pressure and gas velocity.

Hahahaah well true, but you know what i mean :)

Yeah well in that sense then i guess ill stick with the RC 40 becuase it does still sound nice, and like you say need it to suit long journeys also,

Ive had both twinbox rc40 and playmini exhausts, and the PlayMini wins hands down.

You'll get the usual bombardment that 1.75" is best for performance, but I dont really mind sacrificing 1-2hp for the awesome noise it makes on full throttle, without being uncivilised in the cabin. The rc40 is very functional, as it performs the best, but sacrifices the sporty exhaust note, and to be honest, isnt really any quieter in the cabin.

:)
