Hello people,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a step by step guide to the tools and things that I will need in taking out the windscreen and putting it back in?
I have found bits and bobs of different stages of the windscreen removal / replacement but not a step by step guide.
Reason behind this is that I see a tiny bit of rust on the inside of my screen, I want to see how bad it is before I decide what to do with it.

Thanks for your time
Anton

What age of car and where's the corrosion ?

The reason I say this is, there may be the possibility that there's a lot more rot hidden and you may not get the windscreen back in for a long time...

However, no real special tools required but get yourself a windscreen fillet fitting tool...

It is a 1992 Rover Mini Cooper, the rust can only be seen from the inside and is along the bottom of the windscreen in little patches.
Hope that helps,
Anton

Hi Anton, i took mine out tonight its pretty easy. Take out the fillet strip thats in the middle of the screen rubber then working from the drivers side carefully push the screen from the inside at the top and bottom untill it pops from the rubber enough to pull the screen out at 90 degrees to the car. Hope this helps, by the way i found loads of rusty corn flakes under the bottom of the rubber!

Andy.
