Hi, I'm pretty new to the mini scene. I have recently brought a 1983 Mini 1000 City E which I am currently starting to restore.

When I purchased the car it came with numerous new parts e.g. front grill, mirrors, boot hinges etc but a lot of them haven't got the screws/bolts/nuts that are needed to attach them.

This probably sounds a daft and lazy question, but are there any companies selling Mini specific bolts/nuts sets at all? I've had a look on a few sites but can't seemed to find any. If not could anyone tell me the main bolts/nuts type so I can buy a bag load?

Thanks
RobWill116

Being in the US we have UNC & UNF standards. My question is, does the Mini use BNC & BNF nuts & bolts? It looks like most UNC & BNC TPI match, not sure on pitch.

Mini uses mostly UNF nuts/bolts, with some UNC where going in to alloy parts of the transmission.

Hello,

We are currently putting alot of time into our Classic Car assortments, if you are currently carrying out work on a set part of the mini, let us know and we will put a kit together for you!

I.e, full nut and bolt restoration, or smaller jobs such as front suspension, engine, wings etc

We have very handy top up sets on the website aswell as full kits for alot of classic cars!

Many thanks for the recommendation Mike!

I'm also in the USA and have almost completed a full engine rebuild. I can confirm that pretty much everything is UNC or UNF (readily available from your local hardware store - unlike in the UK!). Only exceptions that I can recall are crank pulley bolt (Whitworth thread - and I guess flywheel bolt too... but they are specialist items), and some BA threaded items on SU carbs.
