There are 3 ways i know.

1) Use standard subframes like the Cobra jobbies you can get with most of their seats.
Easy to fit and allow you to tilt and slide the seats. However you tend to sit quite high up especially if you're of a decent size. My cobra subframes make my head touch the headlining.
Something along the lines of THESE

2) Use side mount adaptors
Harder to fit as you need to measure how far back you sit, the width of the seats and then bolt them through the floor accurately. You can choose how high or low to sit. Fitting these means you can't move the seat at all or get people in the back. They look mint though.
Like THESE

3) Bolt the seats straight through the floor
Just drill and securely bolt them through the floor using bolts, washers and thread lock and the nuts already mounted in the base of the seats which are used to mount to standard subframes. Obviously, you can't move the seats or get people in the back. Sit very low which is perfect for taller drivers. Nicer driving position, however a pain to get in and out especially if driving daily because its so low.

I don't know what the seats are, but I wouldn't recommend bolting through the floor. Having bolt heads under the car isn't really safe.

A bit of a plug but I am manufacturing these, which are generally the preferred method of fixing all competition seats. You then use side mount adapters like the Tweeks ones above to fit onto them, this is how all the rally cars I have worked on lately have been done. http://www.theminifo...x...=196227&hl=

In my mini with this system fitted I have about 6" headroom, and I'm 5'11".

I don't see the problem with bolts under the floor, after all we run fuel and brakelines under the floor, and the original rear mounting catch was bolted through the floor.

However, the rear floor is very floppy and when bolted directly to is they move around a bit. You'll also need some BIG spreader plates on both sides to be safe.

The best way is a C$NNON links to, this is similar to how I have done mine

I kinda agree with you Will, it's just that on race/rally cars as you know, there's the (small) risk of a rock or object bashing the underside of the floorpan, and not too handy when your seat etc is fixed directly onto it.

Yes the raised mount idea is definately rally derived. It protects ocupanst somewhat from strikes to the underside of the car. Not so critical on a circuit car.

I have mounted seats in lots of ways and the two bars is by far the best.
