Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself before I browse through the forums.
My family are vintage car enthusiasts! Between my Uncle, Dad and I we have a fair few Austins, a Lagonda and a Triumph Herald.
I admit I don't use my little 1926 Austin 7 very much, it always rains in this country and it's currently set up for hill trialling which I'm not that into. Added to the fact I'm 4.5 months pregnant we are looking to sell the Austin and buy something a little more 'sensible' as a weekend car, so a mini it is.
My Uncle does work on his own and other classic cars so he's going to be doing the buying/upkeep.
Given the interest in classics we're looking for something very original and plan to keep it that way (with the exception of maybe adding seat belts).
We're off to see a 1971 mk3 cooper next week. We sort of know the car as we've seen it at a couple of rallys with our Austins so I'm confident it's the real thing.
I'll let you know if we buy it!

Hi Sybil, welcome to these forums.
I hope your unborn will appreciate the Mini as much as you will, because it's a bouncy little bugger...hahaha.
Then again, it's never too early to become infected with 'The Virus'!
Good luck selling and buying the Austin

My mate here in Aussie has a 1926 Humber. Cute little car. However he has a Mini Moke also. Good luck with the Cooper purchase. What colour is it. Cheers Kev.

The mini we're looking at is black, wouldn't be my first choice but actually it looks pretty smart on the photos.
I'll post some photos of the 'gang' when I get home (work computer at the mo)
