Hey guys,
I was driving home last night and pulled over to take a picture of something,
After I got back on the road I was ablest drive maybe 50-100metersbefore the car would not go any more.
I pop the hood and I see that my vacuum tube has shrunken (a lot of suction) so I am thinking that my ecu is blocked up.
Do you guys suggest I take my ecu apart and clean the air tube?
I did drive in some puddles and sand before this probem occurred.
What do you guys suggest I look at?

Sorry for the terrible formatting, I am typing this on my iPhone while sitting in the mini on the side of the road broken down.
My "fixed" specialist components ecu has stopped working. I don't think the guys at the factory set it up properly.

Edit: I would like to fix my rover ecu. I put the sc ecu in as a temporary fix and has not worked.

No holes in the vacuum pipe.
I have even put fish tank tubing and it also kinks up as there is too much suction.

There are 2 other vacuum lines on the bottom of the air filter, one goes to the manifold and the other one has snapped off and i have no idea where it goes, It's been like this for months and the car still works.

Fish tank tubing is useless or this purpose! I wouldn't be surprised if this is adding to your problems

Buy some propper vacuum tubing. Samco sell a packet of vacuum tubing in silicon rubber, I use this instead.

if you have a broken vacuum line on the airbox, it depends which one. They are colour coded. The yellow connects the vacuum flap valve in the snorkle of the airbox to the thermostatic vacuum valve. The red connects the thermostatic vacuum valve to the back of the manifold. All the elbow connectors on the airbox are brown while the connectors on the back of the manifold, fuel trap, and ECU should be black. If any one of those is a brown connector, there's a good chance that its pushed on too far and infact blocking the vacuum.

I'm not sure where the Specialist Components ECU comes into this. Is your ngine heavily modified?

I only have one tube on my air box and that goes to the manifold. i am not sure where the other one goes to.
an the vac flap cable just sits there.
I replaced the ECU and vacuum hose and it worked ok today so i drove it to work.
I drove home from work and stopped by a shop to pick some supplies up, i go to start the mini and anything above idle it starts to backfire, so i got it towed to a mates workshop and he said the injector is shooting out too much petrol :/
We tried my 2 different rover ecu's with no success.
One problem after another :mmkay:
I tried the S/C ecu and it gave me the same result.
