You must inform your insurance company of any change at all to the vehicle as they may decide to invalidate your policy if you need to make a claim.Sorry to hijack this thread but does anyone know if I have to tell my insurance company about changing the interior because I've just bought some buckets, I've looked through norwich union's website and policy but can't find anything about modifying the vehicle.
Need to tell them about the disks and alloys too :nugget:
It will actually say something along those lines in the wording of your policy somewhere. Probably somewhere in the small print.
And, as I've mentioned on one of the other forums time and time again....will people please find out about agreed value policies before it's too late.
What is the point of spending a fortune modifying and prettifying your car for the insurance company to pay a pathetic book value sum if you ever need to make a claim?????
Well worth the £15 a year (ish) for peace of mind.
And, yes, I am speaking from experience. Had my mini nicked one week off insurance renewal. Nice new agreed value policy waiting to start. Old insurance company (as policy was only fully comp) paid out a pitiful book value sum which they wouldn't budge from even though I sent them similar cars for sale and told them how much time (2 years), effort and money had gone into making it how it was, and I ended up with not even enough money to buy a complete shed.
