this car is on ebay, it is advertised as a 1275 GT (which it isnt)....the seller also claims that the car hit 120 mph at santa pod....hahaha...his speedo must be reading stupidly fast.....either that or its the only 1275 mini ive ever heard of that can produce the amount of power to hit 120 mph in 1/4 mile........well it does have a "performance cam" and twin HS2 carbs....what a joker......especially with the price!!

linky..... :shifty:

Seen lots of non-1275gt minis advertised as 1275gt recently, dont know if thats due to seller ignorance, 1275gt resurgence and relative rareness, or just people adding as many key words as possible to attract attention, mine was an obvious flat face clubman with a 1275, but i made sure it stated 1275gt on the v5, i recently questioned the seller of a non-gt about his 1275gt advertisement, not so much because it was inaccurate, i was interested in the car as it was, but the response telling me that it was a gt and i don't know what i am talking about put me off, especially when he told me he didn't have the v5!

He's updated the listing and now claims that the car actually has a 1275GT engine & gearbox. So it really is okay for him to call the car a 1275GT, after all I've got an air freshener from a Lamborghini in my mini, which technically does now make the car a Diablo!! >_<

He's also added this:

"Some people have queried the top speed and have asked for proof - all I can say is, you are more than welcome to come out on a test drive for me to show you."

......so it would seem that he's planning on taking it up to 120mph during a test drive on the public highway now!!

You don't know he's going to do that speed on a public road, he might live at an old airport or a race track.

There is no runway or section of track long enough to get a mini up to 120mph anywhere in the world, his only option would be to use most of the length of the M1, that is assuming that he also has the ability to change the laws of physics too!

Could be he didn't change his speedo drive when the new engine was fitted, so it's massively over reading....or something like that ;)
