Ive got a problem with my wifes Rover with the fan only working on setting 3 & 4.ive searched on Google and it seems a common problem with the wire wound resistors but there is a lot of conflicting info on how to replace them and what with.It looks like its OK to use replacement ceramic type resistors but Im confused as some info is outdated, some links are old and no longer work and others seem to offer different advice.I havent really got any idea about electronics so can someone let me know what to ask for when I go into Maplins. Many thanks

This is a common fault on a lot of cars I think, my Lupo only works flat out on 4, I would fix it but having one speed makes me think I'm in a mini! lol.
I think this is what you want -
