Dear all,

just started making my own dash, I had an old walnut one but (I know this is OCD) but couldnt stand the three holes in the middle not being centre and the stereo hole!

Got the wood from a local timber yard for free as it was an offcut.

Used the old dash as a template and then a lot of fine tuning.

Holes cut out for dials and switches (in the middle now!)

Still got to do the air vents, glovebox (which I'm stuck on) and the clocks (which need to be bought).

Opinions welcome and if anyones got a 3 clock speedo and wants to sell it please tell me! Im looking for the old style that was in the 1275 GT etc.

Like what you've done Moosh. I've always liked homemade dashboards (I've made 3 in the past) and will hopefully be making a 4th once I start refitting the Midas in the far distant future...

Looking good Moosh, there is nothing more satisfying than making your own dash and other bits and pieces, I made my own dash and console, with the glovebox I marked out where I wanted it then cut it out with a jigsaw then with another piece of wood I made the door and used piano hinges to fix it on.

I pretty much did what Mark did re the glovebox but with the added bonus of a light and a pinswitch to operate it. If I remember rightly the light came out of a Vauxhall Astra and the pinswitch was off a Volvo, all from the same scrappy. Mine was all wood or MDF covered in vinyl. Staple guns and EvoStick impact adhesive rule! =]
