As a private sale I would rate yours towards the upper end of the range, 1500 to 2k, the main benefit with yours is the mileage and the originality of the interior ( having the tags on the seats is a good sign of condition ), but the ravages of time are starting to show on the body work, and may present any future owner with a heft bodywork bill in the next year or so.

I would say yours is worth more than that, it looks very nice, well cared for and totally original which always helps.

I'd have thought that would easily make £2200? Looks a really nice original little car, interior looks spotless.

Good colour, nice condition and its a RSP, May even hit £2500 to the right buyer.

If you have all the relevant documentation too, you'd get £2,500 easily.

Quite a tidy example you have there!! I pretty much agree with what has already been said, somewhere around the £2k - £2.5k mark (assuming it has a full MOT). I really can't see it falling into the £14k bracket though I'm afraid.... not for a fair few years yet any way!!

Thanks for all you replies. It seems it's not worth quite as much as I thought so glad to get a realistic figure before advertising it.

I knew it wasn't a £14K example, that one was basically factory fresh with about 200 miles on the clock!

@ANON The car has had 3 previous owners, and the 2nd owner purchased the car 2nd hand from the John Cooper Garage.

£2.5k all day long as it is, might take a few weeks to sell though. with the bodywork sorted, wouldn't cost much, and if you aren't in a rush to sell it could easily do £3.5k, if not a touch more.

I considered both these RSPs in the eBay links below, but only viewed the Green one with the S pack. He is as good as the advert suggests other than having some rust on both valances. I paid a bit less that £5000 which I felt was a fair price but by the time I had him thoroughly serviced (had not been on the road since 1998) it was nearer £5,500. However, he is now driving like a dream and noticeably quicker than our standard red RSP. Black RSPs are the rarest (and I think the most desirable) and would have preferred a black one but had to choose between black or the S pack, and went for the S.
