Grease Is The Word !

need to go around the cars grease nipples this week and need to know what the best grease is for doing the job, just have a nornal grease type gun that you fill.

I use moly grease.

I use normal yellow-ish bearinggrease which is fine..(for me).

Make sure your nipples are clean before you start!

Seriously though, wipe any grit away or it will just get forced into the joint. I had to replace most of mine as the tiny ball had stuck in place. Replace any bleed valve rubber covers too.

Moly grease is really the wrong thing to use in the suspension grease points. Moly grease generally refers to CV joint grease, which is designed to be more slippery at high temperatures as the moly disulphide cuts the lithium a bit. It only stays inside the CV because of the sealed rubber gaiter, the suspension points don't have these. If it gets hot enough in thre, the moly grease will soon all leave the joint and it will dry out. So although it is still a grade 2 grease, it's not for universal use. You should be using a general purpose lithium grease such as Castrol LM or Duckhams LB10.

Never thought of that. You always learn something new.
So Moly for CVs and Bearings, lithium for balljoint and top arms.
