ok getting back to you ollie! :wink:

your setting for perfection should be around the point where your hitting the retainer plate bolt ?

if so see if the dizzy cap screw is too long if so trim it back ,
also the bolt your using has a flange at the top of it ! remove it ! it should then clear fine !

your dizzy should then be possible to set just how you like it !

You don't need to do any of that, just adjust the timing position of the dizzy drive as said above. It's a lot better solution and a lot easier. You're fitting a distributor which wasn't designed for this engine and so it won't just fit as the old one did. I have got a re-tuned 1275 electronic dizzy fitted to my 998 and it just points the wrong way, that's all. Do what Mini Sprocket says or fit the magnetronic module to your existing dizzy. The curve of this dizzy will be wrong unless you get it re-tuned anyway so you're bettor off fitting the magnetronic really.
