Does anyone have an idea as to what ( if any ) bucket seats will fit into 78 mnini, the original ones have seen better days, and I would prefer a bucket seat with a head rest

There are hundreds of bucket seats designed for all the minis out there! Just go to a specialist mini website, find the category and then pick whatever floats your boat! Cant go wrong

You can usually buy a universal seat subframe that fits beneath the seat and allows you to fit a variety of bucket seats into your car. Just be aware that some of the larger and wider seats do not always fit comfortably inside the classic mini without fouling on the doors or bodywork.

Also in my experience some bucket seats are much more comfortable than others, similarly some are also a much tighter fit on the occupant than others too. (Personally I would struggle to get my "ultra slim & athletic physique" ;D into many of them and would probably have an even bigger problem in trying to get it out of them again afterwards!! ) So it's probably worth finding somewhere with a showroom that allows you to actually sit in a few, in order to gauge each one for size and comfort before making your selection.

If I was fitting bucket seats into a 70's model, then I would probably want to choose something with retro styling like this: http://www.minispare...id=37858&title=, but then I'd probably also want to sit my backside in one first before committing to buy.

I've got some Recaro reclining seats from a Ford escort RS turbo, their pretty comfortable, but looked a bit cack in the grey cloth so Andy at optimize automotive is recovering them from me!
