Hi guys, just put on my Titan 1.5 roller tip rockers but some seem to be wobbly on the shaft when set up to .32 and torqued down... Been for a drive and sounds a bit well... 'tappy'/rattly... Is there any way to tighten them on the shaft? Or even position them a tad closer together so there's no room to play?
Thanks
Thanks

At first yeah because Haynes says .27 to .33 but now set them to .30... Is that right?

Don't understand your problem - what is '.32' ?? If you have slackened the head nuts -hope you are fitting a new head gasket??? Personally - my view is these fancy rockers are a huge waste of time and money - just use the earlier pressed steel rockers - carefully adjusted so they act directly over each valve tip.

If it's the valve clearences your setting they are 15 thou inch I think with the roller rockers, well that's what mine are set at and I don't have any noise from them, I hope you're not getting inches and MM's mixed up

Ok mate, cheers. What's 15 thou inch in mm?
It's a minispares cover that's apparently bigger so shouldnt hit on that but I'll have a look... to be honest there isn't any noticable difference in performance with them on but maybe everything needs setting up to get the benefit of them

0.40mm is 15thou
Right I'm struggling to understand all the facets in this thread.
Am I correct about the following:
- You have just fitted rockers (Titan 1.5's)
- You have adjusted the rockers to 0.38mm
- Now there is an audible tapping that wasn't there before
- You haven't noticed any performance increase
If these are the facts may I now interject with a few questions of my own!
Are the rockers new or second hand?
How did you adjust the tappets, rule of 9 etc?
When you took the old rockers off, did you change the head gasket?

I really should have had a look at this for you yesterday whilst I was there but clean forgot! I really hope the reason you broke down isn't because the clearances were too tight and burnt a valve out
I tested them with the highly accurate method of 'giving them a wiggle', and some did feel looser than others. When inserting the feeler guages did you come in from the sides? With rollers, coming in from the front just acts a jogwheel and forces the valve open.
Next time you're on this side of the border give me a shout and I'll pop over with the feelers.
