Some of my posts can't be edited, ie. no 'edit' button is visible at lower right hand side?

This one for instance:
http://www.theminifo...howtopic=200893

Sorry, I should have made an announcement.

We are trialing a new setting. You can only edit your post for 15 mins after you post it. It's to prevent people upsetting the flow of a thread by coming back days later and deleting the post. Something which seems to be happening more and more.

Is it your videos you're trying to fix mab01uk? If so, drop me a PM and I'll sort something out for you sir ;).

Yeti, it isn't that simple I'm afraid, the time limit is global :(.

R1minimagic, can you not list items individually and then close the topic when the item is sold? That's how the classifieds system is designed to work.

I know it's silly but sadly a select few abusing the power of being able to edit their own posts have made it neccesary to bring this in to force :(.

Yes i can but it will mean about 30 or 40 posts instead of a single one which is not very practical!

Im sorry, but its always been my knowing that to post more than one thread within minutes is Spamming and on the last forum (not sure on this as havernt tried) but there was a timer of how long you post then post again. so this is basically what your saying. Post one item then another and another  which is silly and that will fill the "new content" with over 2-3 pages of new threads, which is pretty mental (this is with out other sections besides Sales >_< not knocking anyone at all just saying is a bit Bonkers!!

Totally agree, it's bonkers, but on here they like to have total control over you!!

The number of posts that actually get edited and cause problems are probably in the very low percent (maybe even less than 1%, i dont know), so why try and impose some rules to deal with this when in the process, the other 90 odd % of people get totally p*****d off!!

Hi,

have to say that i wanted to edit a pre edited post today and had to make another post just to add more in. Think the majority of people are normal and just want to tweek posts and not delete because they get some critisism. At least put the time limit up to a day or an hour, that would be a good compromise.

Graham
