Right, after that topic I made about the fibreglass being safe or not I thought ' how much would it be/take to get it back to steel? '

So.. Ive found a breaking mini and the bloke can do the front end ( apart from subframe and wiring ) for 200 quid which seems pretty good as its solid and little rust he says. Is that good?

Secondly - what work would need to be carried out for it to be solid again at the front? currently there are braces for the fiberglass but no other mounts as such. So what work inc welding would be needed, and an approximate cost?

Help would be great, cheers ;D

i have no idea of the work involved and this might be a little off topic but... Any chance you still have the fibreglass front?

Fisrt thing bolt on a new front panel then a new bonnet. Get the gap from the scuttle to the bonnet correctly. Then get new half inner wings and trim them to fit. Seam weld those to the front lip of what is still left of the inner wings, making sure they follow the curve of the bonnet. Then weld the inner wings to the from panel, looking at the panel fit from the front lip of the bonnet to the front panel. Then fit new A panels, gapping to the doors, then the new wings. Once that is done get yourself a new loom for the front, ducing from ebay and transfer the lights from the old front to the new one. Bonnet catch will need to be fitted and stuff like that, but that the major bits.
