how do you fit the c pillar trim panels? are they held in by the rear screen and rear quarterlight seals? or do the seatbelt and window latch hold them on?

Just looked at my trim panel and it looks like you are are right they fit behind rear and side window seals.

As above, they fit behind the seals. There is also a flap that goes under any parcel shelf covering you may have.

thanks for the advice 
i've glued it in above the side windows but i still need to pull it tight and glue it in around both screens so i'll put the trim pieces in when i do that
