Hif 38 Choke Mechanism Problem

Basically the mixture control lever drops off the fast idle screw acelerator (see the video). Therefore I have choke, but the engine doesn't run faster on start up.
Is it the return spring? The lever returns, but has sideways movement and does jam on the side of the screw. When it jams the choke remains open.
Could it be that the lever has simply worn?
Any advice, much appreciated?

Also looking at the video the choke lever doesn't start centered on the adjustment screw, are you sure that the throttle lever hasn't been bent out at all?

I don't see what the problem is Dean - can you move it by using the cable - rather than with your hand? The hand seems to be moving it sideways........
Regardless, the choke lever shouldn't move sideways that much & as you can see in the video the lever actually slips off the adjustment screw & sticks, which it also shouldn't do.

Thanks everyone. I'll re-post when I find the problem or future reference.

I think this was the problem. Basically I have bent the throttle lever back in line with the adjuster screw. The choke still has some sideways play, but it doesn't appear to affect the function, in fact it works better. Therefore.... all now works perfectly!!!

Makes me wonder how it came to be like it in the first place though.
Thanks everyone.
