I'm new to the mini world.

I was always thinking its either going to be a land rover, GT 5 turbo or a Mini. Mini won.

My dad spotted one near where we lived, a 1993 Mini Cooper in red up for £2400. We hagled them down to £1900.

Good condition rust as standard but thats going when the weather improves. I'm almost 19 and I still havn't managed to get a licence as I've never really had a reason to, now I do. I might get into club rallying not for winning but just for a laugh. Not going to chuck myself into that as soon as I get a licence, I can drive but definatly don't have any experiance.

Still I have plans for it, already wrote up my wishfull list. I would say getting car parts would be easy for me working in halfords, but even with discount the prices are still rubbish. Tsk. They are thinking about giving us trade on consumables which will proabably take 2 years at their pace.

First things I want to do;

Eliminate rust.

New suspension, possibily those Spax 40th anniversary ones, if not that coil over. Mine have started to rust on the inner legs and I noticed when I was lowering the car on the jacks the rear wheel would move an inch at a time instead of smoothly like the front.

New sports radiator, mines corroding and if I do anything to the engine I want something there to cool it. No good wrecking the car.

Kyle.
