I picked these up off ebay for some of the work I have left to do on my estate. I managed to get them for half the RRP so I'm well chuffed.

This is what they're used for. Clicky

Those are really cool, I can think of loads of times they would have been the perfect tool rather than cutting curved pieces from sheet. Nice to have two bodies too, the kits I saw before were one with interchangable jaws.

i've bought quite a few bits direct from eastwood in the states, never been stung for duty so it can work out quite cheap.

Very nice indeed, I've been looking at getting some for ages to do the camper van this winter. Is there someone on ebay selling eastwood sets all the time or did you just get lucky? I've seen a few on ebay but with interchangable jaws.

I've not seen the fella I bought mine off selling them before but he had about 8 listed so it might be worth contacting him to see if he's got any left. Clicky

I started making a stand for the shrinker stretchers today. The main upright is 90MM box section with another piece turned 90 degrees at the top so I can get to the mounting bolts and a 5MM thick plate on top. Tomorrow I need to make some legs from rectangular tube that will be welded onto each side of the upright creating a X to keep it stable.

I managed to get some pretty decent welds although it's not to hard with material this thick.

I cracked on and finished off the stand this evening and I'm rather pleased with the result.

I started out with the feet using some rectangular box section. I decided to slash cut the ends and weld in a plate to make them look a little cleaner.

Once they where all welded I stood the main beam up and arranged the feet around it before tacking them in place. Once I was happy with their position I lifted it onto the bench and welded them fully.

Now the real money shot with the machines bolted up. All in it weights 29KG, not as much as I thought it would but still quite a bit.

Thanks Ross there's a few welds on it that I'm not too pleased with but for the most part they're clean and strong. I'm not sure what colour I want to paint it yet, I've been thinking about a nice bright sliver?

I did a little playing with the machines after I got them all bolted up and I'm very impressed with what it's capable of. The sections bellow are both 1MM mild steel and started out at about 6" long.

Worth adapting your stand to have a foot control like his in the video? Might make it easier if you're ever dealing with larger pieces.
