Got the engine all mounted up in a frame.
Just wondering on this as i like the sounds of carbs.
Would it also be easier to wire the engine in?
I would also need summit to control timing, and ideas?

Next after that would be to use a stand-alone ECU to control wihat it already has, you will likely need a new trigger wheel though as iirc the Rover ones were very odd.

I would say that after all the effort of getting it in there why ruin it with carbs. Why not just use the injection system it came with? I presume it's a multipoint engine?

Totally agree. The Rover MEMS system is supposed to be pretty good, carbs are crap however you look at them, old tech.
The Rover system has an odd looking trigger wheel on (in?) the flywheel, no good for megajolt.

any idea for wiring it in.
i do have all the wiring loom from a mpi in the car (as that is what engine i was running before). and these had MEMs ecus too, so shouldn't be too hard i guess.

The easyist way to do the wiring is use the complete metro loom with the modern stalks etc then adapt the loom for the mini lights.
There is a catagory on forum for rover engine swaps if you haven't found it yet. I'm currently doing a new subframe for my clubby estate if you ever want to compare note as doing the frame work over wellingborough

Couple of people over on the 16vminiclub forum have ran bike throttle bodies off the standard ecu.

Yeah that would be good to see a more indepth way of other people doing it.
Running bike throttle bodies on a standard ecu sounds good. might look into that. Any increase in power from doing this? or more torque? or more responsive?
