Just had the head off my 1275 metro engine re-vamped, i had the yellow cooling fan the wrong way so as the engine was down i decided to turn it around, bingo sorted ha ha when i fitted it i made sure it was missing the crankcase breather but on starting the engine WOW yellow bits everywhere, so i changed my boxers ughhhhhhhhh the blades must have bent when it fired up anybody any idea how many spacers i need to stop the fan deflecting and smashing again or should i get a different kind of cooling fan

when you put it in, did you spin it to check that it wasnt going to hit? ive just replaced my rad and had to go from 2 spacers 2 one to ensure it didnt hit the rad!
Yeah bud i set the tappets with the fan the right way around i have put in one spacer, just checked and i can get my fingers between the fan and the rad so it will take another one what i did forget to mention it was hitting the crank pully as well seems odd to me just wondering if the fan has disstorted due to overheat ect hopefull a hammer new fan and an extra spacer may solve i did take a 998 engine out have i overlooked something

If you rocker pads are worn out replace or repair, don't attempt to bodge it to make it work ok
