I started off going to Dorres at the end of loch ness and then on the way back turned right and took the road up the hill to the dunlichity crossroads....A great bit of road with U turns and switchbacks, About 2 miles in total and all up hill. Superb.
At the top I went straight on, the road to dunlichity is full of cattle grids but if you take them fast enough you hardly feel the bump.
I took another right once past the loch onto a road ive never driven before. It comes out just past Farr. So then a left turn to Inverarnie and back down the hill to Inverness.
Great driving roads and all within 10 miles of the town..I feel like I could take on anything in Haggis on these roads,,,but im sure its just the adrenalin flowing that makes you feel invincible....I was probably not going that fast...but who knows! to scared to look at the speedo...Its amazing how much concentration you need when going quickly on these roads.
Did anyone else go for a run in the sun?

A friend in a Honda Jazz went the quicker way through the highstreet. I made it my target to beat him, so I drove like a rally driver (fun

Most fun bit of driving I've done since I got the car.

I know those roads well, though as I don't have a Mini at the moment I can't enjoy them in the same way you can, it's just not the same in a Toyta Avensis estate!!!. Sounds like you had a real blast

I live in the cannock chase area so there are tons of fun roads. Didn't do much speedy driving though - just out for the weather

I can't make it for the next few weeks as I'll be in the States, but when back at the end of October I'll try to make it along. Thanks for the offer or a run, I might just take you up on it
