well i decided to bite the bullet and take of the existing outer sill repair panels which seemed solid and sound, but on removal i found lurking beneath the remenants of the old sill all rotted and corroded, but could not be seen behind the sill repair panel. so i am glad i did! I also had to cut out the inner sill repair panels which was sandwiching the old corroded inner wing. i now need to source new inner sills, new outer sills and front floor pans. not sure which are best? Also the bottom of the drivers door pillar there is a small box section piece i think fitted by the factory to help move them around do i need to fit this part back? as anyone any pics of this area to help me best tackle it? do i fit the new inner sill first, followed by the floor pan then the outer sill? or does the floor pan need to be in first? HELP any help gratefully recieved will add some pics to my restoration log later this week cheers

most floorpans you get now have the inner sill built into the pan so you just weld it to your step sill (door step) the rear inner sill however unless you are replaceing the rear floor pans you will need to get inner sill panels. minimine sell some good ones that have not long come out that have the complete inner sill front to back instead of those horrible nasty old ones you used to get with the cutout around the seat crossmember. outer sill wise most are acceptable now. we use van/estate outer narrow sills at work. this way we can trim it to the correct lenght and also they have no jacking holes in like standard ones so it stops people trying to jack there mini up on not the strongest part.lol

with regards the jig mounts, its upto you. there are of no use and add extra weight but if you want to put them back in then thats upto you.
