I need to completely drain the brake fluid as I'm currently restoring my car and will be removing the master cylinder, servo and brakes front and rear. Looking for some help, advice and tips in order to do this with the least mess possible. Really don't fancy brake fluid all over my garage/myself.
Is it just a case of undoing each bleed nipple, attaching a hose that leads into a container and pumping the brake pedal? Would this need to be done for each brake at a time or all together? Or am I way off the mark......
If it makes any difference the car is a MPI/Twin Point with standard brakes.
Thanks
Chris

undo the bleed nipple of the N/S/R to start with and pump the pedal untill the master is empty. unfortunatly this is as far as you can go because the master wont have anything to push the rest of the fuild out, butthe brake lines themselves dont hold massive amounts so you should be okay

If you have a meat baster in the kitchen you can use this to suck the fluid out of the small tank then open all the bleed valves with pipe / jar connected and let gravity work.

Forgot to add, buy new baster before Sunday if you do use this method!

If you don't mind spending a couple of quid. Gunson's do an easy bleed kit that pressurises the system. You can use that to purge most of the fluid out pretty cleanly. Connect it up & bleed each nipple until dry..! The kit is obviously handy when refilling on your own.
