My friends mini's indicators and wipers dont work anymore, the hazards work fine. We have checked every fuse we could find and they are all fine, we have tried my flasher unit in his and that didn't work, we have also looked for any loose wires, but can't seem to find anything. I am absolutely rubbish with electrics and have a Haynes manual but can not make head nor tail of the wiring diagrams lol.
Anybody got any ideas?

hi, is the wipers switch on the steering column?

if so i'd check the wires and that the connectors are fully pushed on, the connectors are usually close to the bottom of the steering column

thanks

Just a daft thing might be worth checking, on my re-build all electrics were working fine, one day switched her on and all the electics had gone to pot i found out that the reversing switch wiring had burned out and was shorting out on the exhaust might be worth a look

All wires look fine at the steering column, I will have a look to see if any wires are shorting out on the exhaust later

If you are still having problems let me know the year of the car and the model engine type points or electrnic ignition and i will have a look at the wiring diagram for you

there is a black wire on the wiper motor that goes to earth
a light green and orange goes to contact 5/6 in the fuse box, light green and white dissapears into the starter relay and ignition switch
the only common thing that i can see connecting the wipers and indicators is a couple of in-line fuses
one has purple and orange wire in one side and brown on the other which comes out of the starter relay the purple and orange goes to the hazard warning light which should have 2 wires the other is light green and purple going to the hazard switch there is green and white going to your side repeaters so first off i would find and check all in-line fuse holders there should be 4 number

Thanks for that firefox, your a legend :shades: We have got the indicators working now, it turns out that the connectors inside the fuse case were corroded. The wipers still dont work, but I believe this could be the motor as you can here it click inside the motor but not actually work
