Hi in need of some help choosing some new air filters.

I've got twin 1 1/4 HS2's carbs and am running on K&N pancake filters which I've read to be terrible for any engine.

I've got a 1275cc MG Metro bored to 1293 and maniflow manifold and rc40 exhaust. My engine has a stage 3 head.

Any help would be appreciated torn between itg air filter and ram stacks kit from MED or K&N cone filters.

Will get the mini on a rolling road once the new filter is installed to adjust carb needles.

Sam

YES! I have one on my hif44, mildish 1275, a massive improvement over my K&N before.

There's not normally a noticeable difference between the top filters like K&N, ITG etc, but what matters more than flow is filtration. There's no point having a filter that flows twice as well as another if it offers no filtration, else you may as well just use the gauze filters you used to see a lot.

All performance filters I am aware of have to be oiled, including foam and cotton, and they will NOT filter properly if the oil is not present to catch the dust passing through.
