there like insurance and will try and get out of anything.

my mates for example with his astra the headgasket went because it overheated basicly. they got out of it by saying it wasnt serviced or serviced properly at least anyway as he didnt have proof of servicing like a service book or anything.

so because of that it voided his warrenty as they were saying it wasnt maintained properly over time.....

Yeah just joined th AA for recovery, and i think i read something about this, your vehicle has to be main dealer serviced and log stamped you can use other dealers but again the service has to be stamped inline with the vehicle scedule

Thats the way it is bud i am 99.9999999% sure

And forgot to say you would possibly make a better job of the servicing yourself how unfair is that

Off the AA web site

•For a claim to be considered you must call the AA for breakdown assistance.
•Once you've nominated a vehicle for Breakdown Repair Cover, you'll need to keep it serviced in line with the manufacturer's recommendations. Servicing must be done by a suitable garage business.
•A claim on your Breakdown Repair Cover cannot be for any faults that occur during the first 14 days of cover. If you change your vehicle you will also not be able to claim for 14 days after making the change.
•For more information and complete details of what's covered, see the Breakdown Repair Cover

And what is so expensive on a mini that requires an insurance?
The garage is used as a go between, its a parts and labour cover, if you service a car yourself then you will or should be competant to do the repairs and there will be no labour.
If they are suspicious of a part they will have it examined by an independant assessor.
They do not pay the garage bill for you, you notify them where the work is to be carried out, pay the bill and then they assess the claim for the work done. The garage will have to keep the faulty part/s for them to possibly inspect. So that stage 4 head cannot be slipped under the net.
