Cheers matey, just ordered a new 266 Kent cam kit for 96 quid off eBay... Not a bad price I thought
Sounds a fair price. Don't forget the new cam followers when you install it. The carb will need some tuning and most likely a new needle.

Engine out job to fit it of course - so may as well plan for a general overhaul..... I would get rid of the high ratio rockers......
Yes, so would I.
Fit new oil pump, mains, big ends, thrusts, piston rings, hone the bores and check everything else like clutch plate, water pump, etc.

Just a thought the OP hasnt said anything about the Cylinder head. Your cam upgrade will be largely lost until the head has been upgraded to be honest.
Get rid of the high ratio rockers.
Do what cooperman said about recon bits.

basically a cam change will have an effect but not fully until the head is worked on too.
i was told get the cam done first that way the engine can come out and then be put back in. the head can be done later with the engine in situe.
the head work is also more expensive than a cam change (from the prices ive been quoted).
