Can someone who has had experience with both the Minisport 7.5 4 pots compare the stopping feel and power to a standard cooper s with similar pads/disks? Is it worth going for the 4 pots? Im running more power and weight with a honda motor, but with 10 inch wheels.

Id like to stop when I need to.

Get the 4 pots.... they are far superior in stopping power than the standard S callipers, not only because of the increase in pressures but also the pad area is certainly at least 50% bigger. You also have the advantage that an alloy calliper will dissipate heat quicker.

Had you thought of going to 7.9" ( which are turned down 8.4" ) disks, or even vented.

I was going to fit the minisport 4 pots to my mk II mini. When you say original dunlop mags what do you mean?

Ignore my post - a quick search and now I know

A fellow on this forum is selling me his 4 pots. He does historic rallying so had to revert to the standard Cooper s setup. He said the 4 pots had a considerable advantage with respect to fade.

I am using 7.5 instead of 7.9 because I currently have the Cooper S brakes so going to 7.9, I would need to revert back to the 8.4 drive flange then get the 7.9s.

Anyway thank you all for your opinions. More the merrier.

I suppose it depends on which D1's you use, I've have genuine D1's over mine, but did use a 3mm spacer just to give the calliper a little more clearance...

I would not be surprised if the modern copies are a little more difficult as they are probably not made to the same pattern nor standards.
