Hi all
I jest been in a contest with same special stages that didn't require getting fast but getting in a 8,4 Km round in exactly X minutes ...so some mats (+the speed tables from the organizer ) but I got all the rounds with an error of 1,2 - 1,8 seconds .... so the thing is that I need to have a way of measure distance covered from start + time (that I can cover with a hand timer by copilot) ...
so any info about this ? what (and from where) is the best way of getting speed signal in a Mini SPi/MPi ?
Thank you and if is a wrong section for posting this please move to correct one and moderator that does that PM me with new location of topic.

Hi,
I have a Garmin 60CS GPS unit which I use for walking, cycling, motorcycling and also in the car. It can be mounted on the dash with a kit and can measure speed/average speed, distance travelled, time taken and also time stopped. There are lots of other facilities too numerous to mention here. We have just been to Germany and it was great for making sure I kept to speed limits when set to Kilometers - the display can be set to large numbers so a quick glance was all that was needed. The big advantage is that it can be moved from one vehicle to another. The only disadvantage I can think of is that if you were in deep forestation on a rally, then it might occasionally lose a signal - but the new units are better in that respect, I'm told

I use a Brantz Trip meter. It has a sensor attached to the speedo and then you calibrate it yourself against a known distance. It will then be accurate to whatever you set it to. (can be adjusted whenever in km or miles)
