Hi all
Just found the site today, and already had some invaluable help from members.
I bought a '79 850 as my first car back in about 1990. I was mini mad and all my mates had minis too. Other than a 998 Cooper head I couldn't really afford to do much to it back then, and really needed wanted some better brakes.
I put the mini in an old hanger in '94 when I got a Beetle as a company car (don't ask) and it stayed there for 12 years.
Well suffice to say I've now rescued it and it's getting the full restoration treatment in a workshop I built just for it. S brakes, MG engine, MK1 grille etc all going on. I reckon my first car deserves it and I plan to never sell it. I'm well and truly back into the mini thing and just can't wait to get it finished.
Look forward to talking with you all.
Adrian
I'm back

I think everyone on here is of the same opinion.... I wish I had kept my first mini... but you've managed it... Well Done..
I'm also the custodian of a never sell mini... it's the ex's grandads, which I restored about 5 years back, but needs some TLC again after the rigours of modern traffic, the odd ditch and 30k miles, lashing it down the 1/4 mile don't help either.. :cheese:

Thanks all
When I finally rescued the mini it was behind several other cars and bits of aeroplane, but when I got it out someone had put a steering wheel and locking filler cap (with keys) on it, the originals having been pinched in the first few months. Some nice mini friendly person out there.
I built the garage as big as I could so that I could get two minis in there in the future!!!!
